Diversity Statement

As a Latino and a person who identifies within the LGBTQI+ spectrum. I feel it is my duty as an educator to build a platform for students who may identify similarly to me. It is important to teach to a wide variety of people, not just the ones who perform well in class. Each student requires an individualized approach to their education, and people need to have a role model who does not embody the stereotypical idea of a  'successful person' in America.  I strive to have a safe environment where any student can grow to their fullest potential without any setbacks.
